The Lost Wax Process

11/2018

You might have seen some of our stunning Bronzes while visiting us in the gallery or perusing the website and wondered, ‘How are these made?’

Our Richard Cooper Bronze Collection feature a multitude of styles and themes but they all share one thing in common – the process in they are formed.

The Lost Wax Process, otherwise known as ‘Lost Wax Casting,’ is the process in which molten metal is poured into a mold or cast. This cast is originally formed around a wax model of the artists creation, which is later melted away to form a cavern for the liquid bronze.

This process allows the lava like metal to be transformed into a sculpture range with defined detail guaranteed to take pride of place in any environment.
