Smyth

Steven Smith is a self-taught local artist from near Tamworth in Staffordshire.

Going under the name of Smyth, he enjoys working in various mediums. However, he is currently fixated on and predominantly uses oils.

Smyth has a very varied portfolio, but he particularly enjoys portraiture and painting the human form. He especially loves the challenge of painting effective skin tones.

His work has been compare to the established artist Darren Baker. If you are familiar with Darren’s work, you will instantly see why the comparison has been drawn. Smyth has a very similar ‘photorealism’ style about his work. Extremely detailed and versatile to include portraiture, wildlife, still life, landscape and cityscape.

He says that he is “learning every day”.
