Rachele Dryden-Smith

RDS is a British artist based in the north downs of Kent. She trained at the Kent Institute of Art and Design in Canterbury before launching a career in television production.

Her landscapes are inspired by many of the locations she filmed through her 30 years of working in drama and documentaries – including much of Europe, America, India, North Africa and the UK, and capture the colours and light that are so specific to these locations. She is as happy working loosely and gesturally in her landscapes, or with intense realism as is seen in many of her still lives.

RDS has now returned to Kent with her partner and their young son and menagerie of pets.
